I swear this thing took longer to do than the actual drawing. >____<I apologize that the pictures look cruddy because the lighting was really bad.

I just have one question, how do you use the pencils? Do you draw directly onto the page with them wet or dry and then use a brush to spread the colors? Or do you make a makeshift palet onto another piece of paper and then dip the brush into that and color?

Thanks for the tutorial! I've been wondering what's better: Watercolor paint sets or Watercolor pencils? I would do pencils but at the store, they're more expensive. >_<

both have their own great uses, try a small set of each and use them for a while to see which one you like better.
Pencils are better for details because you can sharpen them to a point and move them around better, but watercolor paint sets are nice because you dont need to go through extra steps to mix them and stuff. You can just wet them and color. Of course, then you need to buy more brushes of different sizes so you can vary the watercolors. Just experiment with both.

Ooh... I've had similar art supplies as those (same brands, and the 16-count watercolor pencils), but I only did one monochrome painting so far... a year ago! I'm having a watercolor summer course starting next month (cuz I'm already experienced with oil paints and acrylic paints). Looks like you got a good hang of the colors... >.< And it's a nice tutorial, just that either you could rename it to "Watercolor Pencils Tutorial" since you're not using regular watercolor paints. Also, could add some tips with using the pencils.
