Description Inside the Iris

This was my first entry for the new Luminarium pack, Prismatic. I think this is by far the best I have made yet, I really enjoyed making this piece a lot, more than any other i've made before. For some reason I was messing with the flow option in photoshop, which I haven't ever before, and I figured out what it did and I was like "..dude". So I didn't know anything about painting or where to even start at, so I used `hameed 's space dust stock as the base for my nebula, which I hope I covered up pretty well.

But anyway, I have tons of fun doing the nebula and the planet, I love doing all those little details. So I hope you enjoy the piece as much I did making it.

Just beautiful. The blue is almost overwhelming but not in a negative way, and the reds add a pleasant contrast to it. Not entirely sure what all of the little explosions are So if anything I would expand a bit on the description to explain little things like that to those of us that over-analyze everything. But if I could describe this it would be just artistic bliss. You've taken a genre that's admittedly overdone and made it your own, in every work of art that I have seen of yours, your own touches, perspective, and personality shine through. You don't put out the cookie-cutter stuff that I see so much of (and have done a few of myself in my just learning days ) and it is absolutely refreshing.

Yeah, space art has been done to death. But every now and then there is a special picture that separates itself from the others and is very original and great (don't worry, I'm not talking about my own, I'm no ego maniac).

I definitely look forward to making more of an impact with space art in the near future and putting a new spin on things.

I love the lighting on the planet as well as the atmospheric effects on its surface. Only thing bothering me is the spot on the lower left of the planet. I know its supposed to be the ship boosting away, but it doesn't look like it blends well. Other than that the overall composition looks great. Keep up the good work.

The only spots that are on the planet are the explosions, the ships however are going to the planet, not taking off from it.

Thanks for the comment

I dig this, the planet is my eye-candy on this piece, very neat in color/atmo/detail.

You got a nice flow-liquid-nebula going on there that works very well.

The smallest planet there has very intense outer stroke/outline. Think that it would blend/merge better with the piece if you added a littl more soft glow/atmo on it.

I think I'm gonna try out a few more darker pieces soon as well, they seem fun to create and would be a good change of phace towards my ambient mania I'm on ;D.

Gret work bro, I like!

Lol, I'm always amazed at how many space artists know nothing about digital painting Oh well, maybe it dosn't seme that hard to me only because I did a mix of both from day-one

Love how the clouds look on that planet though

Looking good, but my only problem is the very bottom impact wave, its perspective is quite off with the planets curve
