Description
This pokemon is based on that urban legend about incredibly scary looking tarantulas being found in bunches of bananas in supermarkets (or this might be real? snopes doesn't have anything on it idk)Cavacreep (Cavendish + Creep)
Egg group: Bug
Ability: Swarm, Unnerve (Hidden Ability, Thick Fat)
Dex: Cavacreep (Lurker pokemon) disguise themselves as ripe delicious fruit to trick passing by Pokemon and people into trying to eat them, and at the last second jumping out and attacking them. This pokemon has multiple long, spindly legs which it is able to extend out of all orifices of its fruity exterior. These pokemon are incredibly tricky and mischievous, they are known to fall from the high trees above on top of any passerby below and even place their fruit in strategic location to make people slip.Β
The concept of this pokemon arose when i was supposed to do a "banana pokemon" and i was like "okay how can i make a banana themed pokemon without doing the obvious thing and just making a banana with a face and calling it a day??" and so this pokemon was created (though i guess i had plantains on my mind more then bananas.... mmm i could go for some right about now)
I also wanted to draw it with its other super long spider legs to make it look creepier but i thoughtit distracted from the "banana" part of its design, and i guess it doesn't necessarily HAVE to be a spider, just some creepy critter.

You are thinking of the Wandering Spider which very much actually does end up in banana bunches due to a strange attraction to them I think

Yeah, people actually find spiders in banana bunches. My dad worked in a grocery store and remembers those events quite vividly. XD He says that he never saw any tarantulas, though.

I like this a lot. It's a nice change of pace from what you'd normally expect form a fruit pokemon

This is a brilliant design and a neat concept. I can see this PokΓ©mon along tropical shoreline in banana trees or in banana plantations. All in all this is awesome!

It's working very well. I'd use Cavacreep if I found one in the wild. Probably would nickname it Wham-bana. Or maybe something more banana-y.
