Description
Finished my first attempt at the male physique after doing my first female one in my Battle Sister Eden picture! ([link] ). Have to even up the gender odds!Next time I'm going to choose one WITHOUT a tattoo!!
Reference below is the awesome ~SteinZupancic by *DiamonEyes so go check out his amazing gallery!
'Gunz Loaded': Actual Size photo:
This is done on A4 Bristol Smooth (8”x12” but had a tiny 5mm border around the edge for me to hold...now cropped out
I could darken the background a bit more and just constantly keep fiddling with it...but it's time to post!
Fullview is a LOT bigger than real life size (see above), so you can see all the technical flaws heh! *Updated image as I saw some blotches
Hmm really need to improve my tonal values! Not made some of the dark areas dark enough....something for next drawing! I am pleased with how his hands turned out though!!
Hope you like it, I think it's one of the best I've done from a technical point, but tons to learn still! Comments and criticism welcome!

Have you used General's Sketch & Wash pencils? I call them Jesus pencils as they come out none more black, which is amazing for graphite. They also lack the shine graphite gets.
Anyways, that is an amazing drawing! (:

Thanks very much I've only really got 1 set of Faber Castells heh, as I've not been drawing long
Haven't really experimented much
I have so much to learn

If you haven't been drawing for long, you have a massive amount of talent. The great thing about art is that there is no such thing as perfection. Just stay true to your style. (:

I'm not even sure if I've defined what my style is yet hehe I'm still just drawing for fun, but I'm enjoying it, so that's the important thing!

No problem bud Thanks for being the model hehe
You have a great physique and look and with eyes like yours you better be fighting the women off with a big stick! (If you aren't...you're doing something wrong!
) I'm hoping to do a few more pics from Luis' work at some point, but lots on the plate at the moment

really cool! thats funny that you want to do one without a tattoo next, i really want to draw a person with tattoos. you did a great job of them, maybe i'll be biting off more than i can chew!
will give it a go though.

Awesome, it's good fun, the issue is deciding to blend the skin first or draw the tattoo while the grid is still there?

Yeh the tattoo was a nightmare I need to be a bit more confident in my values though, as his left arm and torso should be a lot darker on the right hand side of the picture
Ah well, practice makes perfect
Thankyou for the lovely comments as ever!

I know what you mean about tone balance. It's hard. Sometimes I correct it and sometimes I don't. Hey, I want to try that 20 minute thingy. And can you do more than one picture during that day (each pic is no more than 20 minutes)?

Hehehehe... so cool! I'll try something today or tomorrow. I'm on pain pills and muscle relaxers because I injured my back.... sooooo... I fall asleep easily. But I'll try this anyway.

I'll survive. It's those real long, intensified drawing projects I have to avoid.
