I tried to photograph my street last night full of fog. But it never came out that good. It was full of fog, yet the pictures looked rather "normal".

That fog was really dense. Seems like camera's automatically work around fog or something even when on the manual settings. Either that or we're not thinking of something... I agree with you even this was relatively normal.
