pretty much just used the alphabet & numbers,
there was very little repetition other than O's & 0's..

well,
this was created using Adobe Illustrator.
[manual drawing is my downfall]
i am sure it is possible to produce it freehand,
it would produce a whole different style of typography - with a more real feel.
please give it a try & post the results
