yeah thats probably true. though i would imagine this has more power then a pistol in 32acp

true the longer barrel does help, but not by much, they actually make inserts for rifles in 30-06 that allow you to shoot 32ACP for small game hunting, in fact the largest animal you should be hunting is a coyote.  It would have to be a close in weapon and that might not be the best idea.
