Description
This budgie was Rana. His name means frog in English. I know is a strange name for a bird. But I gave it to him because I was told that if I wanted that he spoke the first word thought had to start with the letter R because it has a strong sound in Spanish very similar the sound the budgies do. And Rana was the first word came to me. He learnt to say a lot of words with R and without. But the most important thing was he loved me. I spent hours with him teaching tricks and playing. He was an affectionate and sympathetic friend. A lot or years have spent but I still miss him. This retouched picture, made when I was eighteen with an analogical camera, is a tribute to his memory and his friendship.Related content

Y que fantastico periquito Laura. Fue el segundo que tuve junto con Nani que apareció en mi terraza. Este era el macho. Lo compramos para hacer compañía a la otra y luego resulta que lo odiaba a muerte ja ja ja. Los dos eran muy cariñosos pero Rana hablaba además. En aquella época yo pasaba las horas muertas jugando con ellos y entrenándoles. Casi todo mi tiempo libre. Han pasado 30 años y aun les echo de menos.

We are bird people - we like birds! A lot of people don’t realize the joy that living with a bird can bring to their life, but we do. So as a pet birds group, it's only fitting and proper that we start off the new year with a showcase of beautiful, loving, intelligent creatures and their equally amazing human companions.
You may be a bird person if:
- You have makeshift "play gyms" all over the house
- Your water cup becomes theirs because they want to drink out of it
- You have bite marks on your monitor, your shoelaces, and all your pens
- There's bird seed / pellets all over your floor (no mater how often you sweep)
- Every time you get an apple (or some other kind of fruit or food), you cut it up small and give some to the birds first before you even get a chance to eat any
- You are forbidden to take

Thank you very much! It was a long long time ago. I was twenty four and now I´m fifty two. I spent hours with him. He was able to do a lot of tricks. Today I have budgies as well but I have not so time. All of them are nice anyway.

He was happy. He was a sweet and friendly bird. All the nights before sleeping he turned his head like in the picture so I caress his little neck.

And I bonded to him. He was my little friend. He and other female budgie I had. They didn´t love between them. But the two both loved me. I miss them a lot. I have and had more of these friendly birds. But I have a place in my heart for all of them. Anyway... I´m getting melancholy. I´m trying to look for a picture or the female and retouched it to post.
