Description I AM IN NEED OF A DOCTOR!

I usually can fix toys, but this one is way out of my experience level....

Yep, thats his sitting pose. So...yeah, I have a Furreal dog named Jaxx, he's in pretty bad shape as you can see on the left. He is supposed to look like the one on the right in which I found at the thrift store in the box today. I want to get my boy fixed so I can sell off my other one.

Something is not right with his legs, they sorta "collapse" from underneath him. They used to be like the other Furreal dog but once some kids came over and jumped on him and he hasn't been the same since. I don't feel any broken parts in his legs, hopefully they just twisted out of shape.

Anybody have an ideas of what may have happened for him to do this and may know how to fix? P.S. He has no stuffing and for some reason can't balance anymore, he always face plants into the carpet when you tell him to lay down or beg.

The one that's broken, yes The other one I sold a couple days later~ The other one has his legs ripped open, going to try and recreate the mold and 3d print out new joints for it~

My friend has it with smores the pony, give furreal a ring. She sent hers back to the company and they fixed it up for about £100. Good luck, hope you kicked the kids butts too

Well, I'd love to help, but I'm afraid I'm too far away. And I even have a Toy Hospital close by. But they're a bit expensive... T_T So I still have to repair my toys myself. Well, it worked until now.

Oh thats just sad and the kids are mean these days! The poor dog just had an epic fail.
But I think I know how to fix this. Take off the fur cut it if you have to. Then see whats wrong I'm guessing he's just lost some bolts or something. Did you try bending them back to normal and then they collapsed when you give him a command?

I will try that!
Yeah I tried to bend them back, but they wouldn't
Yeah every time I give a command he falls over on his side X_X

I wish I could help, but as much as I'd like to think I can, I SUCK at fixing stuff. Sorry.

I have no expirience with furreals, but I own some huge stuffed animals wich have an inner skelet. Thanks to my little Cousin they were also broken and I had to open the seems on the front legs to have a closer look. It's not that hard to sew it afterwards, so my recomendation is to open up the fur and take a look. Especially since I fear that trying to put the joints back in or anything might damage it even more, since you can't see what you are doing and might brake something during the process. And that would be a shame, wouldn't it? So, good luck, I hope it's not too serious and you can fix it.

wolfloverfu2 [2010-11-11 02:25:30 +0000 UTC]

This is just what happened to mine. But to fix it you try snaping back to place and if that fails you gunna have to take the fur up and look at his legs.

well im no toy medic *well i think im not* but this has happened to my friends furreal cat, since she's kinda good with fixing stuff and was good at sewing, things worked out, sadly i dont remember how exactly we fixed the poor thing *it took a long time and half of the time i was studying for some exams sooooooooooo* but one thing we did was kinda cut some of the skin from the leg, when the fixing was done every thing was sewn back up, im sorry my memory fails me during testing periods

Oh I've had this happen. I think it might be due to screws coming updone but it might be broken parts inside that you can't feel.

KasaraWolf In reply to DeadisAliveButEnding [2010-11-11 01:46:25 +0000 UTC]

Did you have a Furreal dog or another toy? I will probably have to skin the fur off his legs oh my

DeadisAliveButEnding In reply to KasaraWolf [2010-11-11 01:47:57 +0000 UTC]

Yes I do actually a different model but it's a furreal. It had the same problem when My younger sibling used him for a halloween costume. Sadly I dont know how to fix it. I just let him rest in my toybox with my stuffed animals.

Is there any cotten in the part where it is bending? (if you dont know just feel that part of the leg and it will feel hollow and will flatten if there isnt any in that part)

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

KasaraWolf In reply to YourLocalDruid [2010-11-11 01:45:33 +0000 UTC]

I don't think he has any cotton in his body whatsoever because that might happen

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

YourLocalDruid In reply to KasaraWolf [2010-11-11 01:47:10 +0000 UTC]

Well than what is he filled with?

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

KasaraWolf In reply to YourLocalDruid [2010-11-11 01:51:48 +0000 UTC]

Nothing, he just has the skin and his skeleton he doesn't seem to have his skin caught up in it either

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

YourLocalDruid In reply to KasaraWolf [2010-11-11 01:53:26 +0000 UTC]

Well did you check to see if his sketeton is bent where it is bending? because if there is nothing in it exept for that then it has to be that, if you can try to bend it back into place

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

KasaraWolf In reply to YourLocalDruid [2010-11-11 01:56:08 +0000 UTC]

It feels fine to me, for some reason it just won't bend back into place like its locked or something. I have been trying to bend it back into place, but it keeps popping up again, I guess I will have to take off his fur to see

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

YourLocalDruid In reply to KasaraWolf [2010-11-11 02:03:43 +0000 UTC]

You will have to cut it open with some fabric sissers and when you sow it back together if you find the solution and fix him, use brown string

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

KasaraWolf In reply to YourLocalDruid [2010-11-11 02:05:14 +0000 UTC]

Possibly, I am going to find a way to take the fur off with out cutting him up

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

YourLocalDruid In reply to KasaraWolf [2010-11-11 02:08:36 +0000 UTC]

Well that is impossible, i work at a fsbric store, you are gonna have to cut a small hole, but if you use the same color string you will almost not even notice you ever cut it

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

KasaraWolf In reply to YourLocalDruid [2010-11-11 02:11:59 +0000 UTC]

O I will find a way, just how I figured out how to take off a Furbies fur off and dancing hamsters
