Description EDIT: This is still getting s but it would be nice to know of anyone actually using this! - gimmie a link if you make an animation using this as reference will ya? I'm interested to see ...also, it'd be great if you linked back to this tutorial so that other people can benefit from it too! ^-^
-----------------------------------
my good friend Cerzz has started to dabble in the wonderful and pain-staking world of animation! So far she's been lookin' mostly at dogs, so I quickly knocked up some thumbnails and threw together this tutorial to try and explain a few things. It only took an hour to put together, so it's not meant to be any conclusive lesson in making the perfect run cycle, more that it's simply intended to illustrate a few things which aren't easy to explain in words. I figured I'd post it up here in case anyone else finds it useful!

I suggest using this only as a guide, as you can see the animation itself is basic and by no means flawless!! the animation should loop automatically (if not, right click, loop) and if it's too small to read any of the text, right click, zoom in.
my tutors would screw if they knew I was workin' on this instead of my school work lol! ... me go bed now

Hope it helps Cerrz

yeah sure go for it! - people don't usually bother asking on here to be honest, you like someone's work, you "watch" them, if you're lucky they might watch you back!

how do you put a video on DA?, Do you use a speciall program or something ?

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

KatCardy In reply to drowzeee [2009-06-26 14:03:07 +0000 UTC]

this isn't really a video so much, it's a flash animation, made in the program Adobe Flash. - It's an animation program that lets your animate your drawings like this. - if however you made say, a live action video, I think you need a special video account to post actual movies to DA's film section

LizardPie In reply to ??? [2009-03-29 06:02:21 +0000 UTC]

I'm so glad I found a breakdown of this. I was thinking they ran in the same fashion as an animal like a horse, but it's quite different, isn't it? I'm sure it has a great deal to do with the general weight difference between the two types of creatures, but it's very interesting!

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

KatCardy In reply to LizardPie [2009-03-31 10:52:06 +0000 UTC]

hi hi, yeah, your observation's correct, their gate is quite different to that of a horse.. mostly because the structure of their legs is quite different. - Horses are like humans in the front legs, and ostriches in the back! lol
Glad you find my break down interesting anyway! ^_^
