Description
I am a master of pretentious titles.pls fullview, cos the thumbnail makes everything look totally uniform @_@
So... sup guys? This was a fun ink experiment, after someone saw a drawing of a.. fu-dog/dragon/lion/THING in my sketchbook and said I should consider making it a full picture. So I did! I started it randomly and worked myway from there...
Another one of those things that was just -made- and ideas fell into my head as I was drawing it. I had no conceptions of it except what it looks like. After I've finished I think I've actually come up with some ideas for it
I'm actually really enjoying ink lately, it's fun to play around with, and well, I kinda like really detailed inkwork. It's a fetish, sure.
I'm sure there are a billion perspective problems with this, as I have noticed since finishing, but I don't think I care right now!
Enjoy~!

This is awesome Your fu-dog/dragon/lion/thing looks wonderfully solid, yet airy all at once, and I love the details of the dragons wrapped around the pillars in the background and the stones set in the tiles on the floor. Great ink work as well.

Wow, beautiful work! Amazing amounts of detail, good background and perspective... have you thought of coloring it?

Had to fullview this one so not to miss the details. The amount of these in the beast is... just brutal, in a possitive way. As if the smoke gathered in front of the girl and suddenly, you had this huge face in front of you, and a pair of paws fell heavily from the mist.
You also have a good sense of perspective, looking at how you did in the floor; boy, this one will look awesome if you colored it.

Thank you! I didn't really intend this for coloring :< I wanted it to be an ink picture, finished without having to have color.

The amount of detail in this is staggering! I love all the swirls and careful attention taht went into this, and the eyes are quite striking.

This is amazing. I love when someone can create a design that fills such a huge space like that flaming mane, but isn't repetitive or boring. I could probably stare at it for hours, so please tell me you're going to do a coloring of this one.

who cares about the perspective, that creature takes up so much space anyways that one doesn't really notice any perspective mistakes (and it most probably wasn't your main focus either). I love the detail as always, especially on the columns in the back!
The monster reminds me of one of those holy beasts how they are depicted in chinese mythology (and somehow supposed to be different animals, but all look the same to me XD lion? dog? dragon? quilin? FISH?) <3 It's lovely how it's so squiggly and confusing, and how the feet stand out under it!
have I ever told you you're a goddess with ink? @__@

LOL, you are right, I was far more interested in the creature than the BG, although I wanted it to work together anyway.
Thank you very much ;3; I have a book of dragon drawings from different cultures (again, mostly EUROPE and ASIA, lol) that I used to help inspire this...

After my mind jerked it's way out of HOMGDETAILEDINK-mode I started actually appreciating it. I just love how you can tell by the girl's pose that she's rather terrified (or that's how I see it. I would be.)
Color eet?

I didn't really make this for coloring D: (not all BW needs color!!) Otherwise I wouldn't have put so much detail into the inkwork and shading the flagstones. But thank you very much!

No, no, it was just an innocent question.
Maybe it would get more depth if you did though. It's awesome anyhow though.

I kinda have a HUGE mixture of pens that I use... ones I've collected over the years to try and some I like, and some are better than others. I used a bunch of different ones here, mostly Sakura microns, Copic liners, a few Alvin tech liners, a huge refillable japanese brushpen my friend ~tingc888 brought me from Thailand, and some scattered office pens I have lying around

Heeee, Sakura are nice. Copics are great because they come in a SUPER small .003 size, which is great for details. Also big brush pens are great for loosening up and making lots of flow and weight difference.

Holy Jebus. How long did that take? All the curls and flames look like this took hours. Amazing work. Do you really want us to post the story that this conjures in our head or should we keep it to ourselves?

Alright, here's my story :
On the path to enlightenment a high priestess must face and overcome three demons of her own making - this is Judgement, the final. He knows her insecurities and her doubts, and before enlightenment he will lay his judgement upon her. More plainly, she must judge and find herself worthy of the honor. He, however, is a flesh and blood beast and if he judges her unworthy he can rend her soul from her body and devour it, giving him the strength and power to escape. The other priestesses always know when one of their own has failed because they have to face the freed demon and destroy it. Should he judge her worthy, she ascends to a higher plane and becomes divine, sending guidance to her sister priestesses through oracles. Few priestesses even attempt enlightenment and fewer achieve it.

..... That was fucking awesome I love it so much. What a fantastic story! It would make a great full story about a girl ascending from slave to priestess and attaining a higher glory. Wow. Glad I inspired you! <3

hehe, thanks! it would make an awesome comic, but me + sequentials = suck. I imagine it being full of demons and mystical warrior monks and all surreal and strange. Maybe I'll draw something related to it... <3

PLEASE DO! And show it to me. I would love to see it, and hey, maybe something will come out of it. I had a similar idea about this, and it was going to go into a larger fantasy story I have, as a kind of legend of an ancient peoples. It would be fun if I made a whole collection of legend stories for my main story *__* oooooo IDEAS

I really don't think the title is that pretentious. If anything, I think it enhances the picture.
I love the little details everywhere, like the cracks in teh flagstones, and the little ropes and murals on the pillars. Just good stuff.
and the fu beasty is just so cool looking. he looks very light and airy. i expect wisps of him to float off.
it honestly looks like some apprentice mage summoned a higher spirit to continue her learning. so i think the title it perfect. any plans to color it?
