GWAH FINALLY. My hand is so cramped up right now.
Full reference for Shemal, a character in my story "Catalysts." Just Kaylink now for a big ref, mwaha.
Some of you might have watched me draw this, and if so, yay you guys are cool.
I got lazy on the top-bottom sketches hurhur. Also some of these might seem grainy because they were done in pencil but O WELL overall I'm pleased with it. Oh, and I forgot to add on there that he's neutered. Feel free to ask questions.
This character and this image is © to me and me only. I am currently pending registration of my OCs with the United States Copyright office, so he is legally bound to me.

Love the design! Looking great; He looks like Hougen from Ginga Densetsu Weed, mainly the silhoeutte and ears.
I noticed you want to start a comic, but want to wait until you have college art ed? What college are you planning on going to? I can tell you that you're certainly at the level NOW when you can start making a comic. You don't have to wait until you're "good enough" because to a true artist like yourself, I believe, you'll never feel "good enough." SO no better time to start than now! I'd love to see how your comic turns out.
By the way, SCAD has a great sequential arts program (comics) and it's just the thing you're looking for

I am currently attending Webster University for their Animation program; I looked into SCAD and really did not like the looks of the place.
And I am still dead-set on waiting a few years. True, I'll never be "good enough" in my own eyes but I want to develop the skill to be able to draw my characters cohesively enough so the storytelling is clear, which is the whole point of comics in the first place. Plus the plot still needs refinement.

I love that body type for dogs. The boxy muzzle/head, massive body but long skinny legs. They give the impression of great speed, but also great power. I love his colors too.

Nope, Shemal has exceptional hearing. He still has enough of an ear rim left that he can cup sound like a normal dog would. If anything he ears better with his ears cropped, as uncropped they would flop and block noises.

STEALTH
Ah yeah, I try really hard to keep my characters believable. I mean, my story does have some unreal aspects - animals having elements, for example - but I try to keep it low-key and tied in so it's actually meaningful symbolism, not just BOOM FLAME ON.
I adore designing characters, haha. Especially when I have a backstory all planned out, it's so much fun for me. Yes Kaylink's is coming soon, she's such a butt to draw though :U

He was brought up in a dogfighting ring, so he was neutered to keep his testosterone levels down as well as to ensure that if he ever escaped he couldn't breed with the fighting stock.
