Great work, but the mix of parts makes me wonder, looks somewhat like a turboprop does it not?

Thats an awesome contraption and the render is masterful. As an engineer though, things like the static cowl flaps don't make sense to me as they defeat the purpose of what cowl flaps are supposed to do. But its just a sci-fi thing. I need to get that book case out of my ass lol.

Someone noticed! Thought I'd got away with it .. The cowling was modeled as one unit to cut the poly count, I meant to put a ring around it to disguise the fact but just plain forgot. The whole model is an engineering absurdity, which goes to show you should never mix boredom, beer, and a 3d design program together...

lol, I should try that. BTW, I also noticed that the leading edge of the top propeller is facing counter clockwise but the other blades are pointing clockwise. Perhaps effects of the beer?

lol, correction, top blade clockwise and the others counter-clockwise. I think I should lay off the beer as well.

This looks to me like an amazingly creative and skillfully executed image of an non-machine. It doesn't look like anything I ever saw before anyway (says the mechanical engineer). It has a techno-whimsical-mechanical quality--pure imagination!

This looks like one of the vehicles from the Jak game series.

It is very stunning when you see the pic and think: "Hey, good photo." .... And then you realise that it is a 3D model generated by a computer.
Congratulations for the DD ^^
