Please note the words below contain a fair amount of spoilers, so if you haven't watch ep10 of Legend of Korra yet, I strongly recommend not to read!

I know everyone is drawing this, but I just can't help myself not to...
Lin, you're my HERO!!! And really Toph's girl!!

OMG, I feel so hurt and sad now!!! I needed to draw this to comfort myself and the people who got hurt by the new episode.
OK, to be honest, this is the first time LOK really touched my heart and made me want to cry. I actually expected to see Lin sacrifice herself for the Avatar at a certain point in the show, but I didn't expect it to come so quickly. Even though I prepared for this moment, I still feel deeply hurt when I really see it.
I don't how Toph will feel seeing her daughter do all this. Guess she will be so proud of Lin, and heart broken at the same time.
Like mother, like daughter.
Toph was a hero of Awesomness, and Lin is a hero of sadness.
Lin is such a fantastic character, a tragic hero also, my favorite character in LOK so far, and the oldest character I've ever loved. Toph seems so strong and unstoppable, but Lin on the other hand doesn't always win the fight, but she dares to face battles that she knows she's gonna lose, and she sacrificed her most important thing to save her most important person and his family, which makes me admire her even more.
Beifong are the best!!
(But who can carry on the legacy now...)
and, I got the feeling that she will got her bending back later on.
The blowing white bubble implies her melted bending... I still need to touch this up.
I was a bit annoyed by the last shot, I mean that's definitely a highlight of the whole episode, and I screamed out when I heard that voice, you know what I mean. but I wish they could have given Lin a bit more time and let the sadness last/hold longer before that exciting moment hit...

It took me hours after watching the episode to really stop freaking out about Lin's tremendous sacrifice, It left me so shocked over what happened to her, proud of the strength and bravery she demonstrated that screamed Toph Beifong, and so incredibly mad/sad knowing Amon might have ended a legacy.
seeing this excellently touching dedication to that moment only brought back those feelings at full force! Great Work!

Yeah, it was even sadder because you could see her eyes close in acceptance right before he did it. Around that moment was when I began my training in the art of tearbending.

if there's a way to take away the bending, there's a way to regain it. If chi blocking can stop the bending in bending masters ΒΏcan't common people increase or modify its chi flow and bend too if they get beaten up a little in a specific way?

She was supposed to be unstoppable.
I almost thought she would go down with the airship.
But the main question is: Why did they go after Lin and not the airbender family?

I had that question too. I guess they figured the odds of subduing Lin and/or Tenzin were better if the two were separated since they're bending masters and together they've beaten the Equalists every time... not anymore

I think this was probably one of the most epic moments in a series I had ever seen...you knew it was gonna happen the moment you saw the airships. I couldn't believe it. I hope they dont go and pull a "everyone gets there bending back" at the end of the series cause that would make this whole episode not nearly what it was.

Yeah, but if they DON'T pull a " 'everyone gets their bending back' " then they would be throwing away a character; this would be the end of Lin's story (even though it's not the end of her life) because bending was pretty much her whole life.

I doubt that it will be the end of Lins story. Shes to stubborn to give up, bending or no bending. I have a good feeling she will be showing back up still. If they bring everyone's bending back the sacrifice just seems meaningless.
