Probably one of the most interesting ideas and characters of the book.

God! Finally! A picture of him from the actual book! You've done a gorgeous job here. I love the detail, and the coloring. The lighting and trees in the background are beautiful!
Was this done in colored pencil, paint, or something else?

Great work! You should do a piece on the song of the Bandar-Log. "Brother, thy tail swings down behind!"

Oh my god, this is incredible. Kaa vs the Bandar-log is one of the best parts of the Jungle Book and I am so glad someone on DA chose to illustrate this scene. You've really captured the strange, otherworldly and fearful atmosphere of the scene.

Now, my friends, this is what Kaa should have been like in the Disney movie, the badass who saves Mowgli from the monkeys. This Kaa is awesome; this Kaa is Rudyard Kipling's Kaa.

Here via a link from The Illustrated Word. I don't know how I lived without a group sending me the wonders of dA for so long!
There are not enough superlatives in my vocabulary for this artwork. Thank you for reminding me of the enchantment!

I had a staring contest with the monkey at the bottom, staring at you. I lost in two seconds!

Absolutely love it! This was such an eerie and chilling and surreal and otherworldly scene, and you captured it perfectly in every way! I also almost feel sorry for those little monkey s**ts. Almost.

I like the meditative look on artwork. It makes for a nice calm before the monkeys meet their doom.
Nice one.

Kaa was my favorite character in the whole book. I just hate that the movie made him a villain. Who the @#$% had that stupid idea!

Welcome to the club! Kaa was nothing less than majestic in the book and the movie reduced her to a third-rate, villainess. Of all the stupid moves...!
