Woah...b-brilliant! I barely remember this part, since the Mowgli Stories were really hard to read. I like the monkeys, but I just LOVE Kaa, since he's one of my favorite Kipling snakes, other than Nag and Nagaina from Rikki-Tikki-Tavi.
Faved!

I the book!
It is one of my favourites.
I hate what Walt Disney did with it in its movie. They changed the story way too much.
Kaa is one of my favourite characters and I love how he handled the Bandar-log
You did a great job with painting this scene and I agree with Mitch-el, it is like I imagine it.

Absolutely stunning job on the colours. The warmth of the scene is captured nicely with the sky that shade of orange.
I do believe I've seen some of your work before, and I'm surprised that I don't already have you in watch. Anyways, you've got some wonderful traditional art going on and I'll definately be back to check out more of your gallery when I get the chance.
It was a rather interesting language style that Kipling wrote his book in.. have you read this one as a novel? Great story... can only wish that it were longer so one could stay in the jungles for more time. XD The snake's head seems a lot like a royal python's.. and I think that's due to the eye size, the striped patterns on the head, and the slightly upturned-looking nose. Did you use references for this one?
Great work, once again. Take care, eh?

This looks like an illustration for the original book. Well, technically, it is...
Since there's not a whole lot to say because this is a amazingly beautiful peice of work, I'll just say what I like- the sunset, and the job you did on Kaa.

This is simply spectacular. The fine details on the animals, such as Kaa's scales and the monkey's fur, are just amazing. I love the warm colors and the subtle jungle background. It's beautiful without taking anything from the actual focus. Again, just... stunning.

One more comment probably wont matter, but this is beautiful. The mood is dead on, and you can almost feel the heat of the jungle radiating from the image. What exactly was the medium that you used ?

Gah, I remember reading Kipling's books as a kid, staying up past my bedtime with my lamp on, hiding under my blanket so my parents wouldn't see. ^__^ This image is powerful in both its presentation and the memories it envokes. Absolutely haunting!

Oh wow, first of all the detail of the animals is amazing. I love snakes and monkeys, this species looks particularly scrumptious so cute. I've never read the book, but I'll make a note to do so someday. This painting reminds me somehow of humanity- how some leaders will lead a group of 'monkeys' soully for personal benefit, while the followers are oblivious of it even while being taken advantage of. Awesome awesome piece

This was my favorite part in the Jungle Book. You captured Kipling's mood so well. I love how well you did the monkeys, their expressions and their looks are amazing. Kaa is so cleverly crafted as well. You gave him a sense of form, weight, and size that's hard to achieve in a painting. I love the detail of this picture and the colors and lighting is masterly done. Excellent job on this. Makes me want to pick the book up and read it again!
