So, my mind randomly reminded me of a buried piece of my early childhood, way back in the sweet careless kindergarten days in the late '90s.Before the Bionicle franchise started, LEGO Technic made a series called Slizer (or "Throwbots") which are pretty much the prototypes of the Toa, these robots that represent various environments or natural elements.
I remember having the "Ice" and "Jungle" Slizers.
Anyway, I remembered the instructions of the couple sets I had having a display of all the Slizers in their environment m.blog.hu/ja/jatekokapolcrol/i⦠and I realized I could've done something similar, with movie monsters:
Space (Alien)
Jungle (Predator)
Arctic (The Thing)
Sea (shark from Jaws)
Desert (a Graboid)
Fire (Shin Godzilla)
And so I did it. Childhood meets adulthood in an unexpected but welcome package.
Doing this was satisfying.

I had the water Slizer, I loved messing with the disk throwing arm it was so bendy... It's long since been cannibalized into parts but I'm almost positive I still have the instructions.
This is a fantastic piece of art, I love the story behind it, and even without knowing that it's effective. In the little slices you gave yourself to draw in you really brought the focus on not only the monster but also the environment. I think it's the color use? Anyway. Great stuff!!

Oh ya, i remember Throwbots, I still have mine around and occasionally find the disks in old boxes.Β Torch, Ski, Scuba, Turbo, Jet, Electro, Jungle (forgot the name), and... I have totally forgot the last one.Β Plus the last 3 that were the bringers of Doom I can remember 2 of the figures but not the names.

Shin Godzilla (the one here) is from a stand-alone Godzilla film, so you don't need to have seen any other film before it in order to understand it.
It was the first real Japanese reboot, all the previous Godzilla films in a way or another were connected to the original movie.
