Description
Video, detailing 2 methods (This tutorial and a hex method), as well as containing proof that it works: [link]This is a simple tutorial on how to force transparency on Vista, using an integer in Ave's vista style builder.
For a tutorial on how to do this via Hex-editing, see this by ~marxo .
For a forum post of both tutorials, see this tutorial , on Winprj.net forums .
________________________________________ _______
Navigate to "Fonts, colours & system metrics" > "Colours (Globals)", and set "COLORIZATIONCOLOR:INT" to 0 (Zero)
Save the style, and when applied, if Aero is enabled, Transparency wil be forced on.
This can be used to enable transparency for your visual style on Vista Home Basic, too, where transparency exists, but cannot be enabled (Until now!
I am a user of Vista Home Basic, and as the creator of this tutorial, i can portray that this works flawlessly.
I hope you enjoy this simple tut, please

Can yo make a video for windows 7??? everytime i change the color(global) with an aero theme (my pc doesn;t support aero) it changes the visual style to basic instead aero!!! Lol in a few words:
If i change the basic theme for an aero theme it keeps the basic appearence and if i choose an aero theme(it keeps the visual appearence) to make the "hack" and save the msstyle my pc instead of force aero makes the theme basic!!!
Plz help me i have the windows 7 version of the program.

Here's a link to a patched version: [link]
I'm unsure if it'll work, however, as I haven't tested it myself.

Make the visual style force transparency yourself, using this guide, or the Hex method.
Also, don't comment on my deviation then because I don't respond immediately start posting again on my dA page.

not to running what your killermole but be warn home basic users that forcing aero on a non aero compatible pc
can cause blue screen of death

killermole23 In reply to Bre3zy [2009-08-07 18:31:24 +0000 UTC]
This doesn't force Aero...
It forces transparency (in-hand with blur) when Aero is enabled. If they force Aero on, that isn't my problem, as this is for home basic users with the hardware to run Aero with transparency.

i know that just warning people with non aero compatible pc it can cause blue screen of death i just warning them that if they dont have the hardware for it dont use it

don't want to be nosy, but I just check in VSB and it looks like aero vg has the 0 value set in 'colorizationcolor' already

I, for one, cannot modify Vishal's visual styles and release them, without his permission. Obtaining permission could take some time, when Vishal could do it himself. Either do it yourself, for personal use, or directly ask Vishal to modify and re-release the visual style.
BTW, don't post the same thing on my deviantART page, too! It's what I would consider spam.

I think we should get all Windows Vista themers to take a pledge. Maybe something like "I hereby pledge to overwrite the COLORIZATIONCOLOR:INT to 0 in every Windows Vista Theme from here on out."
Something along those lines, but hey, I'll make sure I do that in all of my new themes. I knew someone would figure it out.

Haha! :]
We've also found the hex-address for the hack: [link]
("We" meaning marxo and I)

Cool, I figure when people make a 'Generic Theme' that they base all their themes off of, they could apply that.
π: 0 β©: 1
killermole23 In reply to Satukoro [2009-07-21 21:44:42 +0000 UTC]
Or, when they have finished the visual style, copy it, rename it to "Visual Style FT" (FT = Forced transparency) and then apply the hex-hack unto that visual style.

Satukoro In reply to killermole23 [2009-07-21 23:42:37 +0000 UTC]
That too, I guess, but why wouldn't you want to force transparency? If you didn't want it, you could put either solid white behind the glass or not make transparent windows.

Personal preference, I guess. Some may not like transparent windows.
