Here we have a specimen of Fortis's frontal view and side profile (the red on his side is just where his arm connects). Fortis is 5ft. 7inches. Which is 170.18 centimeters. (2 inches shorter than Aren!) The 3 adjectives that describe Fortis are:
1: Caring.
2: Child-like (in the sense that he is a very innocent-natured person. I mean look at him wanting dessert.)
3: Honest.

The true answer to your guesses and questions:
Fortis is actually an orphan. He was NOT raised by wulvren (I spelled it wrong all last task) however, but by a Wulvren stable man and his mother (Elder Mae). He raised the boy to tend to Wulvren. As Fortis grew, he developed a sense that allowed him to communicate with animals on a level different from others. The trait that Fortis has is very rare and is only found in a select few of his own people. Fortis now tends to the Wulvren as a stableboy of sorts, as well as a caretaker for them when they get hurt.
Fortis's parents were actually of a people that were similar to gypsies and nomads- always moving around, but tended to the land wherever they were. They were somewhere on the outskirts of Fen'Zwelli when they passed.

Being that Wulvren are as big as horses, but are based on wolves, the younger ones sometimes become mischievous in the fact that they want to "pounce" and play with things a bit bigger than themselves.
