Description Can't believe it's taken me this long to get to a Simpsons episode...and in the show's downtime no less. Honestly, the whole series has just sorta evened out into a long, endless plain of...well, plain; pretty much everything after Season 22 has been virtually the same and I kinda feel like they've just left the show on autopilot since the movie. Really wish we had more episodes like Barthood; hell, even Halloween of Horror was better because at least it elicted a reaction (positive or not, it was SOMETHING).

Side Note: at some point, I might end up abandoning these Admirable/Atrocity cards; don't freak out, I'm still doing REVIEWS but I'll just have my own versions of these cards that function the same way. Haven't figured out what to do yet, but you guys seem to love it when I make new templates.

This was the WORST episode I've ever saw!

Yeah, there were hardly any good jokes, it doesn't show much of it being a parody of Boyhood, the characters don't come off as funny and there was no sign that any thought was put into the writing. In a typical Simpsons parody of a movie, it usually consists with two other stories or parodies. But one episode where it parodies the whole movie throughout doesn't do it justice unless they show why there suddenly telling it. With the episode that contains stories about getting revenge, it was told because Homer was about to get revenge for his car. But this episode literally starts out as a parody for no good reason. And throughout the episode, the plot is just a Simpson's version of Boyhood rather than a Simpson's parody of Boyhood. It just feels lazy that they don't even bother making up there own plot without any humorous situations going on. When the Simpsons parody 'The Count of Monte Carlo", they included humorous situations like Homer trying to escape the prison only to come back and making a killing machine just for Moe. When they parody "The Shining" they included the joke of the elevator filled with blood stopping at a different floor, Homer getting knocked out just by seeing his scary face in the mirror, and even Homer chopping down the door to kill his family only to discover that he got the wrong room. There was few humorous moments in this episode, but they don't come out as being thought through. And just because it has heart warming moments, it doesn't automatically make it good. Even with those moments, it doesn't feel like that the actual characters are in those moments because they're trying to parody a character from Boyhood. So it can't really be heart warming since the episode was "suppose" to be meant for laughs. That's honestly my thoughts.

I got the feeling; I know it's really hard to portray emotion/sarcasm or anything through only text.

It is fantastic, and I'd also recommend the season's premiere Cue Detective.Β

Yeah, I thought it wasn't very good either. All these episodes just blend together, and the bad episodes aren't that much different from the meh episodes.

They've just kinda plateaued; with very little exception, they haven't moved up or down and they're just running out the clock until they can finally call it quits.Β

I didn't think the series put it in park until Season 22.
