Description
Hello there~I decided to design my own pony species, the Gaming-Console-Ponies (GCP).
As the name says they are based on gaming consoles like playstation, xbox, nintendo, including all consoles they released (including hand held consoles).
Here you can see an example of an first gen Xbox-Pony, a colt.
GCP-rules in general:
- Power sign in their eyes instead of a normal iris
- Console logo is the cuty mark
- Depending on creation, they can have additional accessories as long as they fit the console (e.g. headphones for ps3/xbox 360 and the like, glowing stripes if the console glows much like wii or wii U, skins or symbols of limited editions like the zelda 3ds and so on)
- Coloring always based on the console. Limited edition consoles can be chosen as color, too. How the colors are uses depends on owner (for example the white Xbox 360 or blue Wii)
- When the power is turned off, their eyes will turn pale
- The name can be decided freely, as long as it includes something that hints on their species (Gaming Console, First Gen, X Colt, Pone 360, Rage Quit... xD) This rule might be changed since it's not easy to find something fitting.
Some data about First Gen x (the sample pony above)
- male
- based on xbox (first gen)
- has controller-ports on his hooves
- has a slot for CDs on his back
- a newcomer and doesn't care much for concurrence. He knows exactly that, sooner or later, his fanbase will grow big enough and pationly waits for his time to come, even if this time serves following generations. This makes him somewhat arrogant.
- will be up to sale (can be reserved for now)
These ponies are some kind of androids, which means screws and the like can be added.
As soon as everything is prepared and my exams are over, I am willed to design some GCPs in exchange for points/money. How the price listing will be isn't set so far, I'll make my mind up when I've got time.
For now I am interested what you think about them. Would you like or even buy one of those special ponies?
I am really curious about your thoughts about them ^^

I'm going to be that guy and say this straight-out. There's already a bunch of console ponies out there that only need citation to the original creator for use, making your adoptable pretty near useless.
That, and why are you doing this, making adoptables? I took a quick scroll through your gallery, and you're either stealing art or you're pretty damn good. Are you ashamed of the design or something, and that's why you're selling it? Don't want it attached to your name? Frankly, it's a nice design, but not something I'd pay points for, considering there are better ones out there.
Don't take this personally, but I have been dying to ask why the hell people make adoptables.

First of all, thank you for your opinion. I am not a person who really strolls over the internet looking for some species which could be free to design. I love to design my own things and stick to those, for example pokemon gijinka. I know there are plenty of people who draw gijinkas, I am not the first one to draw them neither the best one. I simply like to design new stuff, the design I make is ALWAYS my design and neither copied nor inspired by other artists.
I don't know why you are saying that I am stealing... ._.' I practiced many many years to make it to the point on where I stand now. And I am trying to make it beyond this point, do develope further and become better. And I am honored that you still left the thing with the pretty damn good, which is actually nice for me... Still, I do NOT steal. Never. Everything you find there is either drawn completely by me or you find me giving credits for someone (if I used a base for example, don't know if I did)
Why I am trying to sell this even though there are plenty of ponymakers who are better than me? Easy.
1. There are ponymakers who take redicioulous prices for designing. Also, you may need to wait long or getting a slot isn't even close to possible
2. My style is not theirs. I know that I am able to draw good ponies. Punk Song for example found actually many people who liked him, despite the mistakes I made on him since he is only my fourth try to draw a pony. Nopony is an expert from the very beginning, I know that I have room to improve and I will improve. There might be people who actually like the way I draw, that's why I am thinking about selling those
3. I got several questions if I would draw for them. For free. I used to in the past, but I stopped. Why? Easy to answer: I don't have the time and patience anymore. I am at the point I need a minimum of 4 hours for one full colored and shaded picture. There might be people who are better than me and take less time. But if you ask me, I am not willed to spend at least 4 hours of my life if the only thing I get is a thanks. Sketches are different since they are easily done. But full colored pics... Are a whole other level. I saw people taking 700 points for a headshot because drawing actually is work. And I am not sure but... Would you work for free?
4. Simply because I need money. Either in real life so I can make somewhat of money for a living or here on DA so I can buy comissions myself. That's the whole point in actually sell comissions. I won't stick to these ponies, I am considering to take any pony comissions... I don't think charging money for a service isn't wrong ^^' It's not like I was forcing someone to buy from me xD
5. The last reason is that there are plenty of people who aren't either creative enough or good enough in drawing skills to design ponies or to draw them. I know this, if I had the money I would buy comissions or the like myself.
I used to think like you in the past and always wondered why people consider to make adoptables when there are so many sides who actually provide them for free. On the one side it's artist-related... You like an artist, you buy their art. On the other side, it's a design you get. Like, you are allowed to use the design completely as you want. And I came across artists who were able to design either humans, kemonomimis or ponies which I fell in love with. I would be willed to spend some money on them... If I had some! (oh the memes). Well... I am not ashamed to have my name attracted to it. In the future, I may be selling designs of pokemon gijinka as well.
I hope I could answer your questions ^^'

Alright, I get the idea on the adoptables. And I'm not accusing you of stealing. I said "You're either pretty damn good or you're stealing art."
I wouldn't say that's an accusation more than a compliment. You have good art on your page.

I agree with you on the statement that there's plenty already... but then again: there have been all KINDS of ponys, you are bound to do something similiar to some pony out there regardless of what you draw. if you draw a turtle pony someone else has probably already done it before u.u
useless?? I thinkt hat's the most unfitting word you could have picked and it's also the worst thing to say if you don't want her to take offense or take it personal u.u
She's not stealing, it's actually really her art u.u just saying u.u
adoptables are... well, you either have it or you don't ^^" I have been in your shoes many years. why the hell would you sell designs?! the answer is as simple as it is unoriginal and plain: you just do it for fun. I had to come across some absolutely GORGEOUS pony adoptables (in my opinion) to understand why you make adoptables. This has nothing to do with not wanting to be associated with something or being ashamed. If you are ashamed you make a secondary account and upload it there, if you don't want your name under it it's the same thing. Adoptables are a fun way of sharing art. Like, let's assume you liked her art and you adopt a pony from her, it's 1. probably really cute 2. maybe THE design and you love it and draw it and 3. it's like a trophy. you have art from Kira!! Not many people have that ;>
I hope that answered some questions ^^
If you would not pay points for this then that's fine. Then it's not your kind of Pony. Someone else might see this and it's exactly what they were looking for ;>

Here, I understand a bit more on the point of Adoptables, although I do still find them a bit silly. As for stealing, I hope I clarified it a bit on OP's reply.
