I think for people that have heart problems, and that sort of thing...these are essential. But yeah, for the perfectly healthy people, it's just lazy. And I don't think it's just in America. But I agree...this is pretty bad.
No wonder kids nowadays are so fat. Really. Bad habits, and dumb parenting. Horrible combination...

does the pizza delivery guy get to your house faster than the ambulance.
does the mailman know if your grandma is in the hopsital. (I have personal experience for this one.)
do they leaves the vaults in the banks wide open, yet chain the pens to the desk.
Anyways... This is just sad. The six-step escalators probably show how lazy and obese we are today. (No wonder a third of teens are considered fat.)
