I have plenty of Canadian friends, and I enjoy their company, plus I think the escalator is for the elderly or pregnant women, because my country cares for the disabled.

Oh cool, I live in a English area too, but we need to learn Spanish OTL.
Even though America doesn't even have an official language, because it's quite impossible, since we're a constitutional republic, but if we did, English would be our 1st language, and Spanish would be our second. French comes in 3rd, because we defenitly teach French here too, as a 3rd language of course.

You're forgetting the fact of elderly and pregnant and any other disabled people for which the escalators are for. However, people fail to realize and just go up the escalators.
So it's not stupidity, it's ignorance.
