Description
*snrk* Okay, so after 70-some years of tussling with Horus over who should rightfully get Osiris's throne - the son born post-mortem or the brother who killed Osiris for it fair and square - the other gods got tired of all the drama, captured Set, and held court to decide matters. Opinions were a little mixed, but eventually they turned to the Wise and Powerful Neith, who handed down a judgment she thought was fair.Set would eventually agree.
The guy keeping Seti at bay, btw, is Geb, who wasn't much of a father to our dear chaos deity, but he always seemed to find the time to capture and hold his son. He had a gift for being pretty inescapable, being the earth and all.
This whole thing sprang up when I was trying to work on the next page of Strawberry Syrup, and drawing just wasn't cooperating... so I decided to work it out by drawing something else (which is why Neith is not my best work ever). And it is just so much fun drawing Set when he was young, back before he took up being all elegant and noble annnnnd before he realized that not all women are evil.
And apparently, in all the ancient art, Astarte's "aggression" is shown by her sporting a pair of bull's horns. She's since managed to outgrow that little habit.

Not sure if Astarte and Anat are more ticked off at being insulted by Set, or by Neith.
(they just can't win)
maybehaps Anat and Astarte should just take the place over and run it themselves? (they have my votes)
excellent work!

Thank you! And yeah, tough call there, but I think Set's comment was the last straw.

I don't blame those two for getting mad at both Neith and Set (doesn't he know hell hath no fury like a woman [or in this case women] scorned?)

*laughs* At this point in his life, Seti didn't have the first idea of how to treat a woman. He learned quickly. ^_^

Set, as angry as you are, it is probably not a good idea to insult Anat. Considering what she did to Mot I would not want to get on her bad side. On the other hand, it would also be really funny.

*laughs* I don't think it's a bright idea to insult either of these fine ladies. There's a reason they were given to the god of chaos.

why have i never seen this comic before it is the WIN?
i love all your Egyptian mythology-themed stuff, yet somehow this little thing escaped my notice. Set's personality is hilarious right there, and i've got to say i'm awed by how well you did the highlights in their hair. nice shojo-like effect in the third panel too, with the roses and all. though i missed the reason why Set was so pale. always confused me, that has. i suppose i didn't read an artist's comment somewhere.
anyways, i love it, i wish you'd draw these sorts of things more often^^

*laughs* You know, I don't think I've ever read an explanation for why Set is so pale. All I know is that the ancient Egyptians thought of him as having red hair and white skin.
I do need to get back into these kinds of things...

i've read so little that i hadn't even heard that XD i thought it was a trait you personally gave him
maybe an Irish person wound up in Egypt and they thought it was a god?
a
and i would like it if you did. As much as i love your other works, particularly those about satyrs, centaurs, naga, and the like, the egyptian stuff is how i found your gallery in the first place.

Could you draw more Set? Or wait, can I contact with you for commission?
