A huge explosion shakes the mansion and Damion, Sophie, and Iron Horn rush to the library to find Rook being pulled by the ear by a cloaked figure dressed all in black and scythe cloched its right hand.

Rook- I was just trying a new spell, a level one summoning of a house elf, to help Sophie with the house work, I thought the diagram was right but then he showed up. But I don't get it we collect souls and cause people to die then why is he here..OWE!!! Death squeezes Rookie's ear tighter.
Death: That is Lord Death to you whelp. I was in the middle of a prior engagement until I was so rudely summoned by this pup and now I find that his knowledge is lacking about me and the other members of the Four.
Death looks at Iron Horn and Damion: You two, explain to your student about me and my siblings.

Sophie: (Quickly pry's Rook out of Death's grip while nervously laughing) Excuse me, Mr. Death can I get you anything? Some tea? Perhaps a sandwich?

Death: No thank you dear child, I have no need for food or drink but it it kind of you to offer. And please don't be afraid, I'm not malevolent I've been here since the beginning of thing long before that little upstart, the dark lord came or his sire the Fallen One. I merely cut the bonds that bonds that bind the soul to the body so that the Soul Collectors can take them to their reward or their damnation. However, I must speak to your lover alone would you and your other guest please leave so that we may speak?

Sophie was hesitant to leave Damion in a room with such a powerful being, yet hearing the sincerity words from the reaper she hoped everything would be fine as she curtsied to him and took Rook out of the room; Victor right behind them as he respected Deaths request.
Damion waited until he and Death were alone in the library before turning to look into the skeleton's soulless eye sockets. "What do you wish to speak of, Death?"

Death stamped his scythe on the ground and barrier appeared around the room. Then he beckoned for Damion to sit as he did the same.
Death then held out his right hand and a certain book appeared in his bony palm. Damion gripped the handle of the chair he sat in as he saw the tome he been studying to help Sophie remain by his side.
Death- Did you really think that you could try to bypass the law of God and nature without me finding out? I mean, really young one, if it wasn't for the fact that I've been blocking your master from spying on you you'd really be in trouble.
Before Damion could speak Death held up his hand.
"Don't insult me by lying to me son, Time and I siblings so when he saw your apprentice using a time spell he and two of his children History and Future alerted me," said Death. "However, I had been watching you since you made that trade for Sophie and I know love when I see it.
"But before I act, I want to know, what are your intentions with this book and please do not lie."

Damion's nails bit into the leather of his chair as he answered Death, "If you know I love her, then you already know why I'm doing this. To find something so precious only to lose it to time and death...surly you can understand such a loss."
He leaned forward on his elbows as he cradled his brow in his hand. "The thought of continuing my immortal life without her... I don't think I could bare it...And If I died, my soul can't follow hers, " his other hand rubbed at his hollow chest, "- because of my missing heart, I would be stuck in Limbo. And even if I did survive and found her again in a 100 years, you and I both know she wouldn't be the same, not exactly. "
His eyes were intense with such determination as his gaze looked up at the Reaper again. "The only way I see it, there is no other option for me, Lord Death but to defy you and the Dark Lord."

Death- I do understand Damion, do you think that I enjoy reaping children who barely lived this life, lovers who are incomplete without each other, family members, or that I found pleasure in what I did t young Oliver. I don't, I hate it, but there is a order and that order must be maintained for the sake of creation and for Sophie.
What was it that you once told her "I would defy death for you" I cannot tell you how many times I've heard that and people not follow through, however, I know that you meant it and that concerns me. Defy your dark lord if you wish there is no love lost between us. However, defying me, cheating me has a price boy, and you would not be the one paying it, Sophie will.
Humans are not meant to live forever in their physical state it would drive them mad no matter what you did. Even though she would have you and the others she still needs to be with other humans and to watch them all slowly die of age, sickness, war, suicide etc. The cares of this life will weigh on her that it will be too much to bear and let me tell you evil is starting to turn up the heat. She will become a amortal one, a creature stuck between life and death, she will become a harbinger of death her presence will a domino effect that will cause people to die in her place to keep the balance, and try as though you might to stop the carnage and to keep Sophie from figuring out her role in the death you will fail in both and she will just shut down.
Most of all her living will prevent the people are meant to take her place on earth once she passes on will not be born. This world needs those people Damion, you have not right to keep them from living their lives and I'm sure that Sophie would agree. Take it from me no life is more important than the other.
I know this is hard for you but this is a reality you must except. I will not have that sweet girl warped into some monster. Others before you have tried and yes Damion human and Soul Collector alike have tried to do what you are doing for the reasons you are doing it and none them have survived. And yes there were other Soul Collectors with human lovers, yet another thing that your lord has lied to you about.
You know I speak the truth Damion you can not change this. Be happy for the time you have with her.

He feels his gut clench in anger. "Don't spew this bullshit at me! What about us soul collectors? Where were you when the dark lord turned us into this?! He rises from his seat as his chest continues to rise and fall in sharp breaths. "You say Sophie would lose her sanity if she were immortal, but your wrong. She is far stronger than any soul I've seen; everywhere she goes she spreads light, life, and hope to everyone. It is I who will lose my sanity the day I lose her from this world...I don't know how to explain it, but I have a connection with her. I can feel everything she feels as if it were my own."
I know it a huge decision, one I wouldn't make lightly by myself WHEN I do find a way. But Sophie deserves a REAL choice to either stay by my side or live a mortal life; not false hope and a broken heart. And yet, it is wrong of me to wish for such things? I am sick of creatures such a you and Lucifer deciding our fates.
He summoned his scythe as he rested the blade on the floor. " And one more thing, Death...I don't give a damn who you are, If you ever attempt to take Sophie's life again (referring to when she was deathly sick and the other time when her heart stopped beating as a baby before the spell broke) I will be your own death...I don't know what your intentions are, but if you plan on stopping me, I won't go down without a fight."

Death looked at the scythe pointed at him and touched it, turning it into dust instantly. Then, with a flex of his pinkie he forced Damion back into his chair.
Death- Damion I will tell you this, nobody has ever had the guts to call me a liar or to defy me to my face, kid you got balls however you only know half of the story, because you have earned my respect I will tell you more of the story and so that you know that I was not lying to you nor am I lying to you now I will take that Oath of Tetragrammaton before you now that I was not and will not lie to you and that I am not your enemy I also swear that I am not the one trying to end Sophie's life in the name of the One I swear to you.
Divine lighting flashed outside of the mansion and all was still. Damion, Clenched his teeth knowing that the Oath of Tetragrammaton is unbreakable not even beings such as Death can go back on or lie under such an oath.
Now that the theatrics are out of the way it's time that I point a few thing out. No matter what you've been led to believe neither Lucifer nor his spawn your Dark Lord are as powerful as they've lead you to believe, they can only turn someone into a Soul Collector if that person willingly gives into them, his angel warned him about the deal but he took it anyway. Do you think that the Devil made Bruce the way he was, NO, it was Bruce's choice, he could done things differently he could have chosen to rise above his anger and his rage just as Oliver has done but he chose wrong and like all who have made evil choices in life he is paying for it. I agree that Oliver didn't deserve his fate but he chose to take the offer so that he could have the chance to protect his little sister why do you think that your Dark Lord went after Rookie or you because you both had something to live for and you couldn't afford to say no. Unfortunately, life is not fair I know that more than anyone boy you understand so little about the world around you.
Sophie has a strong will I saw it the minute that I saw her, but she is still human, if you managed to somehow bypass all the defence mechanisms I spoke of she would still perceive time as a human being. When the your Dark Lord stole you memories he stole a huge part of your humanity, to change you into his minions so that you perception of time would change to see it as he does, furthermore, it keeps you from going mad with loss and longing you know that if he didn't the soul collector's would go mad. You cannot give her immortality without changing who Sophie is in some way, you'll learn that in chapter 32 of the book, do you think that she'll be able to bear seeing everybody that she knows and loves slowly dying around her or be able to love others knowing that she would only lose them in the end even if she did seek them out 100 years from now they would be different and not the people that she knew.
Damion it would take me eons for me to explain the intricate workings of life and death you could read every book all around the world from every culture and they still would not give you the full story.
I'm sorry Damion, I truly am, but I cannot make exceptions. You remember what that father did when you made an exception, that was just you, if I didn't perform my duties then it would be chaos.
I also have come to warn you Damion I have not been trying to kill your love, however the dark forces of the unseen world fear her, she is one of God's beloved children, you felt it. She is meant to do great things for this world and Lucifer hates her for it. This isn't the first time that, that bastard has tried to use my duties to its advantage and though I can't prove it I fear that he is somehow involved in the mobilizations of the soul eaters. A great change is coming Damion and you will be a part of it.
I've come to warn you Damion and to make a deal. If you can somehow manage to give Sophie immortality without defying natures laws and it aligns with God's will then I will not interfere under my oath to Tetragrammaton, however, if you fail then must except the inevitable no matter what happens it must be Sophie's choice.
Death waved his hand over Damion and released him from the spell. Death then waved his other hand over the ashes of the scythe and it reformed more powerful and stronger. Death held out the Scythe to Damion.
