Description
Nepenthes Γ ventrata.Tropical carnivorous pitcher plant.
Taken with my new EF 100mm f/2.8L Macro IS USM lens.
I haven't gotten the full feel of the lens yet but I am sure overtime my macro pictures will improve.Β

I don't give it any food (into the pitchers that is).
Pitcher plants entice their victims to enter the pitcher with a fragrant nectar.
Within the pitcher there is water which the plant adds digestive enzymes to and with that, it is able to breakdown and eat the insects.
I have seen a lot of ants within the pitchers.

I used to own a Venus flytrap when I was younger.
I killed it by always sticking my finger into it. I recently learnt it has a limited amount of times it can open and close itself.
