this picutre is just awesome. Especially when I think that with a 60mm lense you had to go very close to the wasp. Did you put the liquid on the picture there to attract it? if you, what did you use?
I really hope that I can do a similar cool picture of a wasp or a bee.

very nice photo! I have the exact same camera and lens I think too (60mm). I am quite new to macro, and I figured a tripod helps a lot, but I need to know what kind I should get, therefore I wonder which one you are using! Would you care to help me out?

Thank you very much!
Yes, it's the 60mm macro and I have the Velbon CX-560. I'm rather satisfied with it, but I work very rarely with a tripod. Most of my pictures are freehand or I lean the camera against something. Hope this helps you!

great shot, is that sugar water to temp it to stay? I only ask as I'm trying so hard to get a shot like this myself, and they always bugger off before I can get a good shot and every little helps

I tried it several times with sugar water and failed.
But for this shot I used agave nectar and it stayed.
Good luck!

Super awesome shot, kind of creeped me out for a second, but the more I looked at it, the cooler it became. Nice!

Wow, that detail is incredible. It's really neat to see this wasp drinking water like that.

Ok.
I was wondering, because I have the 100mm macro from canon, and I never got a shot that big of a Wasp.
Has the 60mm a magnification > 1:1 ?

I was really near and it has the magnification 1:1.
