Acrylic on Canvas (12" x 12")

This painting evolved quite considerably as I painted it. I started painting a background of blue overlapping waves, which I turned into double-helix (DNA). I did lots of layers of double-helixes in different directions and blotted away the extra paint with paper and cloth. I was going to leave it at that, but decided it needed something else. I was thinking about the double-helixes and what they symbolise: life. Another symbol of life is the tree, so that's how this painting came about.
