it just got progressively worse... and weird... If I remember right Ed was brought to a world without alchemy (kinda like ours) and no one remembers him in his world and Al is back. I feel like they did the iconic scenes plus nonsense. Hince Fma

Yeah, that's basically what happened. It got really confusing too.
First Ed died, then Al sacrificed himself to bring Ed back to life, then Ed sacrificed himself to bring Al back which somehow sent him to our "real" world dimension. Ed wasn't forgotten though. It's just that Al couldn't remember anything from the time he was the suit of armor and he hadn't grown at all so he's still 10. I didn't really follow a lot of the logic in the 2003 anime. I spent a lot of time thinking, "but that doesn't make sense!"

Haha, I think I remember because I thought it was so ridiculous. I remember the manga-plot stuff and the very end, everything else is pretty fuzzy. Just vague things like Al somehow turned into a Philosopher's Stone? Scar's brother was a lunatic. There was a weird half robot man. Shou Tucker came back with a weird animal body and an upside-down head. Basically stuff that is just generally confusing to me.
Yes, FMAB is better. Plot lines connect better, things make more sense with in-universe mechanics, tone and theme is better, and it has some of my favorite characters that the 2003 anime lacks.Β
