This is the sketch half of a collaboration I did with , thankfully finished and sent to him before school dropped an anvil on me.Dakkan and Temiree have some ottery fun in the Abbey pond. Tem did a great coloring job of this, especially the Abbey background! Check it out! --> [link]

Man, looking at the sketch again, I can see what you mean about the faces lacking a bit of definition to them. Seems a lot clearer now. Perhaps I should go back and see what I can do.
