Actually, KSSU has revamped NiDL & KAtAM sprites. The sprites shown here look very much like the revamped sprites.

The first part of what you said is true, but the sprites look nowhere near kssu style, as Kirby doesn't look as chubby hereΒ asΒ compared to kssu Kirby sprites.
