I've been wanting to draw Jawl and his ''friend'' DigoryΒ here again for a while, but didnt have a lot of motivation or ideas for a scene. Came up with this though!I also slightly changed their designs.

And Jawl i noticed sort of reminds me of that old dino littlefoot runs into right after his mother dies. The one half buried in grit. Yeah same coloring too o-o

Two scenes I am reminded of in this picture.
First is of the two headed dragon from quest for Camelot and second is that angry badger who tells off Todd in Fox and the Hound.

So this is a heavily nostalgic moment - Digory reminds me of Godzooky from the Hanna-Barbera Godzilla cartoon(My childhood was spent watching some REALLY old cartoons when Cartoon Network premiered and had nothing purely of their own yet xD ). It's the arm wings ~

I knew that title was familiar, I remembered I reading through the comments XD
At first I tried to remember if that old dinosaur said anything like that to Littlefoot when he stumbled upon him after Littlefoot lost his mother, because the picture kinda reminded me of that scene (probably just because of the rocky background and the fact that it's also a stubby and a longnecked reptile XD)
btw, have you ever tried animating? I'd love to see what your style would look like moving

I like the change I really notice: his wings. Implied wing bones always just look more pleasing to the eye, and it's a hard decision, at least on my end, when trying to decide just how far to go into detail. I think you nailed it here. The shape of his eyes and overall head are more appealing to me too. He has a somehow innocent dragonish face without becoming a Figment derivative.

I agree about the face. He doesn't look dopey, but he does seem innocent. He kinda looks like he'd be a nerd . . . if nerdy dragons exist. All I know is that I want to hug him. XD
