One suggestion I have is to not treat it like a pencil totally. That makes the lines too sketchy looking, unless you are going to afterwards draw on top of this layer (which would be a good idea) I would say to practice drawing smooth flowing strokes that give you clean neat lines that are easier to color.

I like to draw sketchy, to give me more options, whether I wanna go one way or another. I did eventually draw over the sketchyness. Haha, I got this from my art teacher when we were testing drawing styles, and sketchy just appealed to me most. But thanks for your suggestion. ^.^
