Bought Janet Parke's ebooks on Ultrafractal for my birthday and have started working through the first lesson.I found this baby while exploring the Mandelbrot set and added some nice bright default colouring for the Old Skool look...

You've apparently zoomed a little bit down on the left side of the first valley to the left of the head (Scepter Valley). There you've selected a scepter and not zoomed into the center of it. But I may be a little bit wrong

That is almost certainly what I did. I'm breaking new ground here, eh? 
I've just discovered the delights of exploring the Mandelbrot set instead of fiddling with colouring and layers and trying to produce something 'artistic'. There's lots to see which is attractive and I'm starting to get a very hazy hold of what I'm seeing and why. Other guys were there back in 85 or 65 or whenever... but it's never to late to start, right?
