I think it's the death kind.... but a necromancer could have the best of both worlds...

The colours here are ideal, I love how this red composes with the colour of the needles. I miss those mushrooms a lot, haven't seen any since when I was a kid

Not tried that one...
I'm almost ashamed to say that, while freshly picked mushrooms from the forest are great an' all, my favourites are the standard 'champignons' from the supermarket

What a beauty.
I live near a river and it's damp so I get both mushrooms and toadstools in the garden. I never try to eat them though.

I wouldn't eat this one, certainly. But we sometimes go mushrooming in the autumn, end result being a tasty goulash, soup or fried mushroom slices...

In France every chemist has a diploma for examining mushrooms. He is qualified to say if they are edible or not. I've never asked for his services though.
Once I had a crop of whitish ones on the lawn that we thought were edible but we left them.
In this part we get yellow trumpet mushrooms in the woods. They are very rubbery. I don't really like them.
Still I have lots of toadstools in the garden. I have managed to get photos the last couple of years. I find them fascinating things.

The best ones were those my Dad cooked with bacon in England, those big flat brown ones. Yummy!

Mushrooms are great... and with bacon too
Czechs tend to know about mushrooms, so I trust my mother in law and wife's judgement... but I do feel a little tinge of nervousness everytime mushrooms end up on the dinner plate. Ssshhh.... don't tell them

Lol!
I remember how we were given a big bag of gathered mushrooms ages ago. They went into the dustbin.

I can imagine... mushroom poisoning is no fun at all

I expect you know that just one poisonous toadstool in a basket of good ones can kill people, even if it is removed before they are eaten. The only ones my husband is prepared to eat are the yellow trumpets as they are the only ones with that appearance.
