In my school, I have 2 mentally handicapped people, and I think the one who's got it better would think this is funny. Plus, I have absolutely TERRIBLE eyesight, so I'm nearly blind without my glasses. This is really funny.

As much as I understand this is supposed to be a joke, it is also amazingly offensive. Excuse me but those with special needs/mental handicaps/the mentally disabled are people to- and just because the blind can't see doesn't mean they aren't capable. You really should be more respectful to people birth given challenges, as well as more sensitive.

It doesn't upset one of many. From expeirence though sometimes the "disabled" don't know the difference between laughing at and with them- I just sat through half an hour of keeping my tongue tied.
As for ignoring the Artist Comments, it surprises me that it sounds like I did, although I'm normally pretty good at giving ear to them. I never said he was heartless, nor accused him of not having a "mentally handicapped person" in his life.
I do mean what I said about being more respectful. I am dear friends, like an actual FRIEND, with many "special needs/mentally disabled" or varying "capacities"- probably none of them would actually be offended by this, I must admit that. However the blind people I know, and again I do know a hand full, would be, as they are all pretty much self-sufficient, and would not appreciate the "harmless" jab at them or the "mentally handicapped".
I know this is a joke, and I can see the humor, but at the same time I see disrespect and to be disrespectful there must be a since of in- sensitiveness.
Yes maybe I am being too sensitive, but you know what I believe on the human molecular level we are all equal and deserve the same amount of basic human respect. No matter what. So I had a reason to be sensitive.

Insensitivity would be knowing it would upset someone at which it was aimed. When it's made evident that it doesn't.

I'm totally curious, what gain do you get by sticking up for the artist and getting in random internet arguments. This person was stating their opinion. By not disabling the artist comments and posting their work online, the artist should be able to take criticism like that. That's just my point of view.

Actually, it IS an insult. Homosexual men were often thrown at the feet of burning witches (hence calling them a bundle of sticks) because it was thought a greater sin. That is, homosexuality is a greater sin than harming another person with supernatural power. Being gay isn't offensive, being called a faggot for it is.
