SO I was looking at the cover of my copy of the outsiders and I noticed something.Darry, Dally, Soda,Steve,Pony AND Johnny are all smiling.
The only one that isn't is Two-bit....... The one greaser that is written as ALWAYS smiling...... Am I the only one that see's a problem here?

Mickey died that's why Two-bit is not smiling. Or chocolate cake is not as sweet as it used to be. Or his gang don't drink anymore.

Apparently Ralph told a joke in the middle of the shoot and that's why everyone was laughing, so they're not really being in character here it's the actors. Emilio apparently just didn't want to smile I suppose.

The reason Two-Bit (Emilio Esteves) isn't smiling, is because he was trying to look professional for the camera. The reason the rest are, is because Lief Garret (Bob) went to the table with food for the "talent" and Ralph Macchio (Johnny) said "Hey Lief, don't tounch that food! It's for the talent!". They all burst out laughing (except Esteves of course) and the photographer snapped the picture. ^^

This reminds me of something I did. On everyone else (except Steve) I wrote 'Okay, okay, okay, okay' and then for Johnny, I wrote 'Face carved by angels.' I was a weird middle schooler.

Two-Bit is not smiling because he got dragged to a photo shoot while watching a Mickey marathon and consuming chocolate cake and beer!
