Slipstream - Two Steps From HellFinally, I've found a new shading style that I'm happy with. I still have tweaks left to do to it, and likely will for a while as I continue to shade other colored subjects with it. This started as some pose/angle practice that I liked enough to finish up. I had lined this traditionally to color that way, too, but I much prefer the digital. If I do finish the traditional part and it comes out decent enough, I may post that. But yeah. Here is Kryp doing a rawr. I had started to paint a big complex BG for this but didn't like it..at all, so I started a more abstract thing and realized that it began to look like it was Krypton pushing magical flames away surrounding him, so I just continued with that. I'm pretty happy with the turnout.

AAAAH this came out so well! I love love loooove the new shading style on Kryp here! I think it goes extra well with the background you settled on. Colored shadows + similar stuff around him (broken up nicely with the darker colors) just really ties together well! Excellent work!
