One cannot "change their gender". One's able to change their genitalia, however that is not what defines sex in a human, it is however dictated by one's interests, traits, and over all personality (as society dictates). Ex: "Girls" like Barbies, and "boys" like hot-wheels. 
I'll make one more statement to the case; what becomes of an individual's "gender" when they don't fit into, or equally into each of the stereotypes of "male" and "female"? What's there to say on the children that're building nuclear reactors at the age of 10? 
I have genitals that preform what they must for my body to operate healthily, and I am a human being. Everything else is irrelevant. Gender's hokum of society - it's null to any individual, and does not exist.
