Description
Much better than that last sucky deviation. CyQuail comes forth into reality! ( [link] )Painting quickly in greyscale is a lot easier. No colors going everywhere to confuse me and if I have the values correct here, coloring on a different layer is easy. Which, I prefer this in black and white anyway, so no color on this one.
Scientists are baffled by how the Cyclops Quail survives without any apparent way to take in nutrition.

I'm with you mate. Colors just take *forever*. What a cutie little bird!

It is truly a marvelous beast, lacking only in mudkips. It otherwise pwns the likes of any beast that approaches it.

Whee, thanks~ X3 Think I combined the markings of several species of quails from different references, but I don't think species markings matter much for realism when you're ditching eyes and mouths. xD

good gravy :0 I wanna see more of this kinda stuff.
as for greyscale, no kiddin.. I've only tried a couple monochrome pics so far but getting the tones down on them realistically is way way easier when you don't worry about the colors.
my scientific theory is that the cyquail runs on good intentions. or maybe pure hatred.

Yeah, the cartoonish stuff I'm always submitting still needs work. Realism's where it's AT, ya'll! Well, aside from my need for improvement with human anatomy... and perspective... and basically the same things that inhibit me in cartoons. XD
I totally vote for pure hatred.

<_< A viable explanation, given the obvious brain damage its creator has sustained.
