Okay, people, I just noticed that some folks have been taking this meme and uploading it to other websites WITHOUT my permission. This meme should NOT be posted anywhere except on dA. If you see it elsewhere, please report it to me! Thanks!ANOTHER NOTE: Please stop sending me comments about how this is so "Charon Fan Girl." IT IS SUPPOSED TO BE A PARODY OF THE CHARON FAN GIRL BASE. I'm sick of having to explain it out to you! If it isn't obvious enough, then somehow I have failed to express the purpose of this meme. Me in fallout games. Nicer than Jesus. I find the most gentleman outfit, wear it for the rest of the game. Never take it off, I'm also a ghoul lover (Gob's the coolest!). I love dogs too. I try to be the most patriotic politician in the freaking wasteland.

Just putting my voice into the Charon discussion for no particular reason and a billion years late... I like Charon. He's very useful, he knows what he's doing when it comes to all the companion stuff and I enjoy having him around. I can almost pretend that we're friends, in some very limited and stilted fashion.
However, I don't personally feel that he has enough personality to be a desirable mate. Maybe I'm asking for too much, but I like a sense of humor and/or a pleasant aura around a person. A good example of an NPC, off-hand, who'd actually be worth taking up with (even if he was a ghoul) is Arcade Gannon from New Vegas. Heck, even Raul Tejada's a better pick. All of Charon's interactions with you are completely colored by duty, and you really have no idea who he really is, assuming, as you mention in your essay, that the brainwashing he went through left any "who he is" to know.
Anyway--as far as the physical aspects are concerned, I have to assume that it's kind of a Beauty and the Beast sort of thing. I know that for myself, I could overlook quite a bit for the right person, although rot is a serious stretch. Presuming that I was in fact able to overcome the stench of death and decomposition and took a ghoul from Fallout 3 into my humble abode as a romantic partner, I wouldn't pick Charon, but rather someone nice. Like Gob. Or maybe Bessie Lynn or Tulip.

I can agree to an extent, and I definitely see what you mean. But you have to remember that Fallout 3 was the first really fun and advanced Fallout game to happen. It was their first experimentation with traveling companions, and that's why a lot of things (character depth, the companion wheel, and companion quests) weren't introduced until New Vegas.
A lot of people like Charon because of his character potential. And, since Fallout 3 was designed a little backwards from New Vegas (meaning, the main character has quite a lot of depth and backstory while the companions have almost none, and in New Vegas, its entirely the opposite), it leaves a lot of Charon's character depth purely to the imaginations of the players. That sparks fanfictions and fun stories from game play.Β
Plus, quite a lot of people just happen to love ghouls. They're usually very nice, and they get treated like the biggest scum on earth.Β

Good question. It could be a hint to it, but I wouldn't know for sure. I believe that the current Coca-Cola recipe contains a small amount of alcohol, but I know that until recently, they used a derivative from human embryonic cells!
I'm so glad I don't drink that garbage. I have soft drinks in my house, except for the occasional Reed's Ginger Ale (which is 100% natural, sweetened with honey) and tea.
Before I get carried away, I'd like to add the Seirra's quest is one of my favorite, and I love glowing objects in video games. I decorate my house with them.

Yes, I usually have Fawkes as a follower but since most people's memes center around Fawkes, I chose to do mine on Charon. I was also doing an Evil meme with Clover as the follower but I never finished it.
