Description
Someone wanted me to show how I draw comics on Photoshop, so I did! (Yes, it is a Korean version)I use Photoshop CS5 but I think any Photoshop version (provided they have the tools mentioned in the tutorial) work just as well. I cannot help SAI/GIMP users much...
Please also keep in mind that if you wish to draw comics perhaps more professionally, there are better tutorials out there. This is a very very rough and simple one that I am used to.
Enjoy!

EDIT: Oh goodness...thank you for the DD ;w; I am happy this little tutorial is very helpful!
EDIT2:Β I have added a mini tutorial on how I do thought bubbles in this post

if you had any other program if was canvas or there others what would use and why? Not saying other programs is no go for me its I more of traditional user for now. I can't really say it just currently I middle of scene development until I figure where I going go from there. I think I prefer color and ink if there was something bigger then tiny amounts ink come out hey, I heard you can go and use paint brush but types to use, pig hair or camel hair, camel hair frays, and Well I really don't know works best with ink.

huh wow very helpful tutorial.
I just draw things all by sketch and I don't even bother with the square selection toolΒ (they don't want to cooperate with me) so basically my comics would turn out unorganized and dul...

The speech bubbles part really helped!
But I have a question, every time I make it, I am not able to make an outline for it, it just ends up being white.Β

You need to adjust the layer style, I think it was mentioned in this tutorial

Oh okay thanks!
I have another question (sorry im new to this XD)
What brush style are you using? I am trying to find a good brush to draw and outline with, but it becomes very pixelated.

I just the default Photoshop brush, so I dunno what other brushes are good XD
I also downloaded Pettyartist's photoshop brush set and use a bunch of that for fun sometimes.

I wanted to overlap two panels and like how you did for a particular section and instead of one panel cleanly being on top of the other, the line from the panel below it showed. How do I get it to look like yours in the tutorial, covering up the lines of the panels below?

*back from work*
So after you do the rectangular stuff, you need to just delete portions of the overlap with the marquee tool. it's pretty straightforward

Thank you for the tutorial I have the free CS2 version, and Sai. I'm a lot more used to Sai now but I've been wanting to get back to using photoshop as well. It's better for paneling and text.
