Physical description:

A small, slender adolescent gargoyle, El tends to dress in rather boyish clothing. xyr attire is old fashioned, reminiscent of what you’d expect a young boy from the early 20th century to wear. Unfortunately, it’s impossible to tell what gender xe actually IS. Some assume effeminate boy, others tomboyish girl, El xyrself isn’t much help, though xe does seem to prefer being referred to as male.
Xyr skin is a dark terracotta orange colour, xyr hair dark brown and wild, part of it tied into two long plaits at the back.
Xyr eyes are a strange greenish yellow colour, a single dark vertical line tattooed beneath each. Xe has six short horns that form a brow ridge, three tiny ridges running up the bridge of Xyr nose and forehead.
Xyr wings are unusual, having the typical bat-like limb with three fingered claws, but unlike most normal gargoyles, they’re feathered and fairly small. Certainly xyr wings are too small to be much use when it comes to gliding, xe resorts more to controlled leaps and bounds.
Xyr tail is long and ridged with the same red, orange, yellow and brown feathers, forming a large plume at the tip.
Xe only has 4 fingers on each hand, the fingers abnormally elongated.
Various pouches and a short sword hang from xyr belt.

Jewellery:

El wears two strings of simple beads around xyr neck but otherwise has no jewellery.

Other:
An interesting thing to note, El’s eyes glow red when xe’s enraged. (Typically gargoyle males have white glowing eyes and females red, then again, El’s anything BUT typical.)

Psychology

Personality:
El is mature for xyr age, which all things considering, is hardly a surprise. Growing up in the 20s and 30s when the concept of teenaged simply didn’t exist, El takes great exception at being referred to as a child. Xe seems to feel the need to prove xyrself, growing increasingly agitated when others treat xyr like a naive kid.
Xyr time with the navy has driven the young gargoyle to grow up fast. Xe often surprises and appals others with xyr foul mouth and knowledge of things that xe really shouldn’t know in quite so much detail. Xe has the mind and the mouth of a sailor, drinks in excessive amounts and doesn’t quite understand why this is such a big deal.
El does have a temper, a rather violent one at that. Xe can’t stand being mocked and takes offence very easily when it comes to xyr size, xyr gender or xyr age.
Xe seems overly sensitive about xyr obvious mutation, and for good reason. It’s not easy to be a gargoyle when you can’t glide.

El doesn’t talk much about xyr clan, or much about xyr past in general. What xe will divulge is minimal at best, if xe doesn’t simply change the subject.
If nothing else, El is an extraordinarily guarded person. Xe has a lot of secrets, all of which xe intends to keep entirely to xyrself.

Mannerisms/Habits:

El’s picked up a lot of bad habits from xyr time in the navy. Xe could be described as somewhat uncouth, certainly xe’s blunt as a hammer. Xe swears a lot, has little regard for etiquette and xyr social graces leave a lot to be desired. Xe’s never had to be polite and it doesn’t come naturally.

Manner of speaking/accent:

El has, rather unsurprisingly, a broad Canadian accent.

Education: El has had little in the way of formal education.

Occupation: Airship rigger – El spent many years working on naval airships. Xyr job required xyr to repair cables and fabric as well as general maintenance of both the ship itself and its gas cylinders.

It cannot however regenerate lost limbs or the most horrific of wounds without significant scarring.

Disadvantages:

- Small stature – An advantage in fights, not so great for reaching high shelves
- Small wings – El can’t glide, xyr wings are too tiny. Xe can only do assisted leaps.
- Out of time/place – El came from an alternate time-line, a world where history did not unfold the way it has here. This has left xyr somewhat confused and disoriented. Added to that, xe’s fallen through time itself as well as dimensions, landing over 60 years into the future from xyr perspective.
