Can you believe it?I am actually working on the spring version of my Season project.
Might be ages until I finish it - quite a few things that bother me - A LOT - but I needed a change from the guys I painted lately and from the other commissions I am working on..
Wanna know some of the ideas behind this?
Well her dress for once should resemble a caterpiller a tiny bit - and also the dynamic parts of her dress act both as wings and flower petals (well that is what I would like to try..it is all still pretty rough).
More ideas I am toying with but I they are not obvious yet.
Made a sketch in photoshop and am coloring as always in PS 7 at the moment..

Two main things bother me--her "balance" is leaning a bit, and the purple seems too heavy for spring, maybe just personal preference, cool idea to try a less conventional spring palette. Get me to paint this subject and I'd make everything baby pink and yellow green

yep I noticed her balance..it's the lower part of her dress that throws it off..I had her actually floating but I didn't like how the dress was attached to her legs so I made her wear a long skirt instead
My first thought about the colors was baby blue and green too..and of course soft colors..but I wanted to stick to the more monochromatic tones autumn and winter have...I will introduce some other colors though however I wanted green to be only for summer

uups forgot - well I did look at references with the same front-from-a-bit-lower-angle-face-perspective to get the features right but in the end I just checked myself from that angle in the mirror several times- which helped even better

Hey Natascha, that's awesome! I love the color scheme! Really original, because everyone connects spring with green etc - I love it! Can't say too much now, because yit's a WIP, but I can already see they are oging to be beautiful
Oh and btw, that's a bit off topic, but when will you be able to post the guys? Those closeups looked SO awesome!

Off to a great start, Tascha! You know what needs work, so I won't nag now. I do like the way she seems to be rising up out of a Calla Lily; and I have to admit that painting hands in that position gives me the willies.

Why not anymore? You'd beat the confidence out of other designers with your drawings, if nothing else
You should post some clothes designs if you've done any, it'd be interesting to see
