While this doesn't immediately strike me as PokΓ©mon, it's a very nice and playful design nevertheless. I think it's the floppy ears combined with the eyes, making it look like a mascot for a magical girl series aimed at young girls.

The eyes look more like crosses than stars on the sprite. Maybe you should add a light blue on the corners where all the likes connect? o:

I've always had trouble sometimes coming up with names on the spot, that's why I feel it's good to do as much research as possible on whatever you're designing; synonyms, brand names, history, etc.. Here are my suggestions:
