in, because out would make no sense. if it would go out i would wonder why the tip is darker than the bottom part. if its going in, then its natural that the part farther down in the hole is less lit

there is a light at the end. yet the point where the light is.. is dark.

then still: why is the outer part lit?

is a cone. the light is lit inside, the view in the image is head on(point on). the balls of light are facing backward not forward. so on the outside the end is brighter than the middle because it is catching the light leaving it from inside; whereas the outside point has no light to catch so remains dark, compared to the rest.

the light is blue. its not reflected from red surfaces
