Description
This bad boy almost got destroyed; This is an ink bamboo brush painting of a samurai that I made to get used to just how the in could flow. I cut the bamboo myself (this one was pretty large and could really dish it out).I did a painting with the same bamboo, and a smaller one. It hangs above our couch because my wife refused to give it up.

Having seen your sketches that fit under a quarter, I have to ask. How big is this? I have a fascination with sumi-e brush painting. This reminded me of it, a bit.

I'm still working on anime, but it's fun to try. I keep finding these anime from Japan that look NOTHING like what we see over here. like DARK and choppy and heavy inks. it's crazy!

Oh, neat!
Seems like that'd be a fairly difficult tool/medium to work with..

not really- it's just like using a crowquill pen, but the rice paper (which is what the painting is on) is harder to handle. the dark parts are the EASY parts and used only for real emphasis- it's getting it LIGHT thats the interesting part.
