Omega beam is the laser Darkseid (here in his cartoon self from the 90's, didn't want too wrinkles to do) can send with his eyes. But currently, he can't. Cortex, Brainiac's daughter (or rather his creation as she's entirely robotic) make a reference to the fact that in their previous school, all doom students had to wear these. They were equipped with GPS to know where they go, but also with devices that deprived of powers (if needed) and with electric tasers (for everyone) to prevent escapes. They were removed after the change of school, more secured.

But super villains teachers still need them, in order to prevent them to do more harm of course. In fact, others lasers prevent Darkseid to even wake up from his chair. Jo missed the step, as clumsiness is her main default.

I really wanted do show a vileness lesson ,and we'll start with definitions. (including arson, murder, and jaywalking) Despite she usually hang with Jo, Lena sit with some members of new Superman revenge squad, here Cortex and Zack, General Zod 's son (shall be Lor, but I wanted to keep the alliteration...Very Disney's Descendants, if you think about it...). It was a pain to find his father 's chest insignia, which keep changing. It actually should not not look like a earthling letter, but I needed it to be recognizable.
