Description Upcoming auction,  doing photo shoot and such, thought I'd show her off and see what folks thought.

Named her soft and shy mostly because while she's inspired by Fluttershy,  she has no cutie mark,   she's a carousel horse in the same colors, but without a cutie mark, she's not quiet the darling butterfly lover.

Crafted out of Wool Blend Felt, factory dyed felt so its an even shade all over.  Even though the wings look a smidgen lighter, that's just the lighting, they match spot on.   Embroider is out of polyester satin ribbons so that they're colorfast and almost fade proof.  Stitching is in pearl cotton floss and rayon embroidery thread for the eyes.  Glass pearls for the strands and heat set curls for the softened acrylic yarn mane.    All my own pattern, plushie, eye embroidery, embroidery stitching.   Flowers were made ON the pony, each individually crafted and stitched into the felt, then glue applied to insure that those little suckers aren't coming loose ever

And she's even got my brand right on her little off in golden embroidery.

Will post some more images over her later this evening when she goes up on Ebay.

Holy frickin' ...... that's beautiful. I can't even talk right. I love all the detailing from the little two colors of roses to the dainty pearls. I love the wing position and the colors - each one seems to set off the rest (endless circle of eye catching with the colors) and it somehow just makes you not want to look away (not that that is a bad thing...). Love the "cloud" effect at the bottom, she looks just like she's in the clouds with it.

*Blushes* Oh heavens, to hear you say that just makes me go all silly! Thanks!

Awesome!  Was hoping the clouds weren't too much.  Trying something a bit different with that and the tiniest bit of blur to give her some softness.  Still trying to figure out this whole photography thing

You're welcome.

Hey you're doing extremely good on it.

What camera do you use?  As it is, I'm probably going to have to replace my poor 10 year old Canon PowerShot G3, the flash refuses to work and the A3100 (also a PowerShop) just doesn't take the same... I know because I just took some with both cameras and even with everything the same (even put the A3100 in front of the G3 to ensure exact pictures), the pictures came out better with the older camera I'm trying to find another G series with similar features and quality but I'm choking on the $600 to $800 price tag so I'd like to see what others use.

a practically ancient little Fujifilm finepix S5100.   Been trying to research a camera that has tether capability so I can take a shot and see what I took and adjust without having to unhook, walk across the room, plug in, download the image and go, but most of them are way expensive, so I totally hear you on expense....  I've seen some folks doing good things with web cams but have yet to figure out what they're using and how.....

notoes In reply to LadyLittlefox [2014-03-22 16:51:04 +0000 UTC]

*wince* That tether would kill me. We do have a second newer Canon - a PowerShop A3100 that takes good point and shoot pictures and it's only about $180. I just don't like it as much because I'm used to the G3 and the manual focus and all the tinkering I can do with it and the A3100 is not one I've done much with. But my boyfriend takes really good pictures with it so it's just me.

It's all in what you get used to handling. If you like a camera that is a little heavier, bulky in your hands, go for one of the higher end ones but for more quick pictures, the point and shoot type is good even though they are smaller and more lightweight. I've only ever had Canons in the cameras (most live longer than I have use for) but a Sony might also be a good brand. My camcorder and dvd burner are both Sonys and both have survived the abuse I can put them through (I do a lot of burning so I can go through a burner). I don't care for webcams simply because they have to be hooked to the computer at all times, I've seen some digital cameras that do the same thing and you can still unhook it to take the camera somewhere else - my college uses that setup to do the student IDs. I think it might be the program they use to do it though.

*blushes all the more*  Heavens thank you!   Oh I hope I can do them justice, though I have my hopes set on attempting Luna sometime soon.  Haven't decided on her flower color yet.

A moon flower would be great for Luna!! It's a pretty white flower that would look great against Luna's coat color of a dark Blue. Check out pictures on Google.

It's the first flower I thought of for her that would work with the style you're going for. Maybe add some roses or Lavender if you want.

I personally think they're the most unique take on My Little Ponies I've seen in a long time. The pose and positioning is so elegant and soft, her proportions are princess like and the amount of detail you put into them is stunning. I love the flowers and most of all how you've styled their manes. Honestly? My mum and I looked on your etsy store and we honestly think you're selling yourself short when you really look at the fabulous, dreamy unique carousel ponies on there. They're stunning.

Just radiates elegance, in the pose and how the body is formed. Not to mention how smooth the felt is. I've seen a lot of felt work with painfully obvious and massive seams that take from the whole piece. The seams are so soft and it works wonderfully!

LadyLittlefox In reply to For-The-Darkspear [2014-03-19 23:48:44 +0000 UTC]

*grins*   Heavens, thanks!

Oh the secret on the smooth seams is Wool Blend felt,  over stuffing the fooy out of the poor thing, then ironing her with a craft iron and a fabric steamer     Acrylic felt is too stiff and pilly to stuff well,  even the premium stuff.

No effort or expenses spared! Well it certainly shows in the quality of the piece overall! It's amazing and I can't wait to see more from you
