Description About the "Ropes" Suit:

Yes, I know it is not traditional to have a "ropes" suit in a tarot deck, but as this is, first and foremost, a reflection of myself, I chose to change one suit of the deck to something reflective of my interests. And rope art has recently become an interest of mine for its combination of sensual beauty, pain for the sake of deeper pleasure and growth, and the meditational and spiritual experiences that can result from being bound carefully in some of these positions for a period of time. A true experience of the Sublime, and therefore perfect for this deck.

I chose the suit of cups because it is most strongly associated with the aspects of bondage, and specifically of Shibari (the bondage technique used in the images of bondage displayed in this deck; see this site for further explanation: [link] ) in particular. In short, cups (Hearts) deal with one's emotional and relational life in particular, dealing with matters of the heart and spirit and one's dealing with others. They represent the bridge between emotion or idea and action.

The Queen of Cups is a nurturing, compassionate woman. She has a particularly metaphysical resonance. She is sexual and secretive, and is dangerous if crossed.

All of the cups are associated with water, but the Queen is particularly so, with the symbol of water being prominent in the traditional image. The Queen's world revolves around children, animals, nature, metaphysics, and sex. She is comfortable with herself and her intuition, and can represent love and a happy partnership.

Thanks to the stock photographers, once again, for their gorgeous stock!

The gorgeous female figure is Rena, photographed by the very talented Silventar! [link]

Thank you again. My love for the aesthetic beauty of ropework is one reason why I have featured shibari in my deck. More cards are coming soon!

Thank you! I'm glad you enjoy it. Hopefully you will find the rest of the suit (and the rest of the deck) as attractive.

Once again you prove us that you know what you are doing while creating a photomanipulation piece, my dear, this work of yours is no exception. I really enjoy the water and the reflection on it. One other thing that I really, really, like is the mystical aura that this piece exhales, that kind of fog in the background, giving it a dream-like appearance.

I am very interested in this project of yours

Wow. What high praise! Thank you so much, my dear.

I truly find Silventar's bondage work (and the work of artists like him) to be transcendant in its beauty. I am glad I could express that adequately to you here. I can't wait to work with more of his images.
